Ian Berry, a British artist, has unexpectedly made a name for himself on the art scene.

On his ultra-cool site Denimu.com Ian recounts how he stumbled upon this art form.

Paraphrasing, his mom made him wear some clunky corduroy pants to a family party. He missed his jeans so much that day he practically developed a fetish for denim’s “deep and varied texture.”

He also made an interesting point that denim, and by proxy his art, tell the egalitarian and materialistic story of modern history.
