People have been known to explore tortillas for likenesses of the famous. What a fortuitous marketing  opportunity for tortilla manufacturers.

Philips wasn’t going to wait for a similar phenomenon to organically break out in the linen department. They took matters into their own hands to promote their new line of irons.

Philips hired artist Mehmet Ali Yusal to mold and fold famous portraits the bed sheets, then apply the final touches using the Philips iron and steamer. Yusal’s wrinkles recreated portraits from Vincent van Gogh, Rembrandt and more.

Philip’s innovative ad won them an award at Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. We cannot confirm whether people are now searching for Elvis in their sheets instead of their burritos.
