For most of her career, Niki Segnit didn’t spend much time in the kitchen. Instead, she wrote on the marketing aspects of all things food and drink.

Since 2010, Niki has been focused on her weekly column for The Times. Appropriately her recurring subject is food combinations.

Niki has also published the best selling Flavor Thesaurus. It is the first reference book to examine “what goes with what, pair by pair.”

Supposedly, Niki uses chemistry and culture as her justification for some of these bizarre dishes. Ironically, I remember some of these exact combinations from my bachelor days when the cupboards were bare.
