A phobia is an extreme or irrational fear of something. Extreme, I get. Irrational, not always. Is it irrational to have a phobia of deadly insects if you live in a tropical rain forest and the local health care system is a mojo bone wielding shaman?

I think phobias serve a rational role in society, oftentimes saving us from our other cracked tendencies.

Phobia #1: Dromophobia- Fear of crossing streets.

Phobia #2: Amathophobia- Fear of dust.
Phobia #3: Atelophobia- Fear of imperfection.

Phobia #4: Xyrophobia-Fear of razors

Phobia #5: Kymophobia- Fear of waves
Phobia #6: Bathmophobia- Fear of stairs or steep slopes.

Phobia #7: Gephysrophobia- Fear of crossing bridges

Phobia #8: Autodysomophobia- Fear of one that has a vile odor.
